CAMBRIDGE – After a second-place finish in the first race – the 200-yard medley relay – the Flyers took the lead after the third event and didn’t relinquish it. Ahead of the diving scores and the final event, Framingham had a 53-point lead over Bay State Conference foe Newton North, but the Flyers weren’t quite ready to say they had won before the final scores were called.
“I don’t think that until we did it,” Framingham coach Ron Pereira, who’s in his 50th season as the Framingham swimming coach, said of when he knew that Framingham had secured the win.
