A pizzeria with several restaurants in Florida is planning to open its first Massachusetts location this year.
Slice House is aiming to open in Union Square in Somerville this summer. The restaurant will take over the former space of Bull McCabe’s, which closed in 2020.
The new spot would join Slice House’s pre-existing locations in Panama City and Callaway, Florida and become the first Slice House in the Northeast.

“Slice House owners Phill and Liz Mercer visited Boston and loved the area so much they made the move up and decided it was a great area to open another Slice House restaurant,” Marketing Coordinator Trevor Davis told MassLive.
Each Slice House restaurant offers more than 40 large, sourdough slices “but include their own, individual flair,” Davis said.
“This is exactly the plan for Union Square — with an homage to the former bar and its patrons by keeping the bar space, staying open later, and creating a few area-specific slices,” he added.

Popular slices include the “Jerk” that is made with jerk chicken, mozzarella, peppadew peppers, pineapple and pesto drizzle. In addition to pizza by the slice, customers can also order 18-inch pies, starters, salads and drinks.

The address for the restaurant is 366 Somerville Ave., Somerville.
