Flight disruptions to continue into January 2026 after New England storm

Monday’s winter weather is going to continue causing problems for at least one airline into 2026.

Cape Air sent out an alert earlier this week that high winds and mixed winter precipitation on Monday would affect flights to and from parts of New England.

On Monday, 38 total Cape Air flights were canceled and 31 were delayed. This included 32 canceled flights to and from Boston.

On Tuesday, more than 70 Cape Air flights were canceled with 65 of them to and from Boston.

Customers were allowed to change their travel plans to alternative flights through Jan. 6 without any additional fees prior to the winter weather.

“We appreciate your patience as our teams closely monitor weather conditions and work to operate safely,” the airline’s website states.

As of 7 a.m. Wednesday, only three flights to and from Boston had been canceled. The three flights were from Porter Airlines, JetBlue and Air Canada.
