SPRINGFIELD — Police discovered an alleged murder victim lying on an air mattress with a gunshot wound to the forehead, according to court records.
Robert Hatcher, 60, was arraigned in Springfield District Court Thursday morning in connection with the shooting. He pleaded not guilty to a murder charge, assault to murder, strangulation, armed robbery and other counts.
Investigators say Hatcher fatally shot Leslie Westbrook, 54, on Feb. 25 and wounded another man who suffered nonlife-threatening injuries. The shootings occurred around 3 a.m. that day.
