A popular Midwestern coffee chain has a couple secret locations in Massachusetts.
Caribou Coffee, which started in Minnesota, states it has 496 Caribou Coffee locations across 20 U.S. states on its website. None of the ones listed are in Massachusetts.
However, there is still a way to get Caribou Coffee in Massachusetts.
In 2021, Assumption University in Worcester lost its Dunkin’ and replaced it with Hagan Café, which serves Caribou Coffee.
“The full menu will feature premium espresso beverages along with light, medium, dark, and flavored roasts, as well as innovative and trendy options like cold press coffee, fresh smoothies, BOUsted blended caffeinated drinks, and the option to mix Caribou Bubbles — chewy coconut jellies flavored with caramel — into your favorite beverage of choice,” the university said in a press release.

The cafe also serves a number of food items, including pastries, made-to-order breakfast sandwiches, yogurt parfaits and fruit and veggie cups.
Students can also use Dining Dollars and points at the Hagan Café.
However, since it’s not an official location, it doesn’t appear on Google Maps as Caribou Coffee or the coffee chain’s website.
Another option is to stop by UMass Amherst’s Argo Tea. It also states it serves Caribou Coffee, along with all natural tea, loose leaf tea, fresh baked pasties and paninis.
Overall, there were 141 non-traditional Caribous Coffee locations across the U.S. in 2023, which allows partners to use their coffee and branding.
The chain does not have any current plans to open a full location in Massachusetts.
