HOLYOKE — Holyoke Mall is serving up new flavors and childhood fun with two eateries now open and a Toys R Us pop-up on the way.
Mama G’s Halal Platters is on the upper level near JCPenney, serving bold flavors, from falafel and lamb-rice platters to chapli kabob and Indian favorites, like chicken tikka and butter chicken.
Mama G’s isn’t just about Middle Eastern favorites — it also serves American classics, like burgers, Philly cheesesteaks and chicken tenders. And every dish meets Islamic halal standards.
Serving sweet crepes and waffles topped with ice cream, plus smoothies, shakes and frozen yogurt, Frozen D Lite is the mall’s newest snack shop on the lower level near Mystery Bins.
The mall is happy to welcome two new spots, said Kristen Hinckley, the mall’s marketing director, in a statement.
“We think they nicely complement the dining options we already offer and hope our guests will love the variety they add to the center,” Hinckley said.
And it’s not just food that’s new — shoppers will soon see a familiar name returning for the holidays: a Toys R Us Holiday Shop will open at the mall at the end of November.
In an October news statement, the company said was planning a big holiday expansion, adding new flagship stores and seasonal shops across the country.
