ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. — A deputy died in a vehicle crash while on his way to work, Gray News reported.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office stated that Deputy Joshua Maloy was in a traffic collision on the way to start his Dec. 24 shift, according to the report. He did not survive the incident.

Maloy had served with the sheriff’s office for more than two years. Before working in law enforcement, he served as a United States Marine for nine years, according to the report.

The sheriff’s office stated that Maloy was a beloved husband and father.

“Our thoughts are with all those affected by this devastating incident,” the sheriff’s office said.
