Collision in Enfield, Conn., leaves pedestrian dead

A pedestrian is dead following a collision in Enfield, Connecticut, where the driver of an SUV ended up crashing through the wall of a liquor store on Saturday.

Enfield Police said in a social media post that the driver of the BMW SUV, Quinton McCauley, 36, was taken from the scene with minor injuries. But Kimberly Knowles, the pedestrian, was pronounced deceased after she arrived at Baystate Medical Center. She was 57.

The collision occurred around 9:43 a.m. at the intersection of Hazard Avenue and Middle Road. The vehicle came to rest inside the front of The Jug Shop.
