ATLANTA, Ga. — A suspect who fled from Atlanta Police officers following a traffic stop was arrested on a plane nearly a month later, FOX 5 reported.

The same officers who initially pulled over Dorian Burley, 39, arrested him when his plane landed in Atlanta, according to the report.

Officers stopped Burley on Jan. 19 because of a window tint violation. When Burley did not provide a valid identification, officers told him he would be detained, video shows.

Burley then fled the scene in his car. He lost control of his car soon after and fled on foot after he crashed, according to the report.

After an investigation, officers learned that the car Burley was driving had been stolen and put out a warrant for his arrest.

“On February 17, 2024, Atlanta Police received information that the suspect would be arriving on a flight from Miami,” the Atlanta Police Department stated. “After confirming the suspect was on the flight, the same officers whom the suspect had originally fled from, boarded the plane and detained the suspect.”

Burley has been charged with receiving stolen property, fleeing and eluding, reckless driving and illegal window tint, according to the report.
