
Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton announces a new academic affiliation with the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University, which will bring medical students to CDH for the first time.
Beginning in September 2025, the partnership will provide third-year medical students with clinical rotations in core specialties such as psychiatry and emergency medicine. Quinnipiac will assist with housing logistics for medical students, and clinical faculty and advanced practice providers will receive academic appointments.

Two Pioneer Valley non-profit community mental health care providers have joined forces. River Valley Counseling Center became a member organization of ServiceNet. Since 1986, RVCC has operated under the umbrella of Valley Health Systems, which includes Holyoke Medical Center, Holyoke Medical Group and Holyoke VNA Hospice Life Care.
River Valley Counseling Center, established in 1953, employs about 350 staff who provide mental health treatment in Hampden and Hampshire counties. These include outpatient clinics in Holyoke, Chicopee, Easthampton, Springfield, and Westfield; services for students in dozens of schools and universities throughout the region; and an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that provides in-person support to many local municipalities and businesses.
ServiceNet, which had its start in 1965 when mental health care began shifting away from the Northampton State Hospital, employs more than 2,500 staff in residential support and clinical programs, including outpatient clinics in Northampton, Greenfield, Holyoke, Amherst and Pittsfield, and the PREP program in Holyoke for young people who have experienced psychosis.

They met with Branch Executive Director Debbie Kelder and YMCA of Greater Springfield President and CEO Dexter Johnson to deliver the gift.
The Scantic Valley YMCA was one of the top 10 vote recipients in the bank’s 2025 Community Giving Initiative. Community members are invited to vote for their favorite local nonprofit organizations.

GoDigital Easthampton has opened registration for a September cohort of its Learn-to-Earn program, which provides a Chromebook to keep upon successful completion of program requirements. The Learn-to-Earn program will include six digital skills classes, two modules (elective) from the Northstar Digital Literacy online learning platform, and two proctored Northstar Digital Literacy assessments (from a list of four topics).
