Ed Sheeran, Tyler Childers and The Killers will headline Boston Calling this year, but they are not the only notable acts taking the stage at the 3-day festival.
The headliners will be joined by more than 50 artists, including more than 20 acts from the Northeast.
To highlight these incredible local artists, MassLive will publish profiles on the acts leading up to the festival’s start date on May 24.

“With the energy and chaos of old-school rock n’ roll and a modern touch of sympathy and empowerment,” Boston-based JVK was founded by lead vocalist Jo Krieger, the band’s website reads.
Krieger told MassLive that she had wanted to start a new band after being in another local band while she was a teenager.
To find his new bandmates, Kreiger put up flyers around Fenway and Back Bay in hopes of recruiting some musicians from the Berklee College of Music scene.
From there Krieger found the rest of JVK: Atticus Crowley and Kay Kwiatek. The group has been together for more than two years and “couldn’t be more excited” to be playing Boston Calling for the first time this year.
“It is such an incredible honor. I’ll never forget looking at my email to see the BC offer and I was over the moon excited,” Krieger said. “I am the most excited to be able to get into rehearsals and put our hearts and souls into making this the most amazing performance possible. It’s only up from here.”
Krieger was supposed to go to all three days of Boston Calling in 2020, but missed out because of the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, she is excited to see all of the local and national acts namely Tysk Tysk Task, Justin Clancy and Megan Thee Stallion.

Boston Calling will take place Memorial Day Weekend from Friday, May 24 until Sunday, May 26 at the Harvard Athletic Complex in Allston.
