A report from the National Weather Service was issued on Saturday at 2:06 a.m. for freezing rain until 7 a.m. for Middlesex and Essex counties.
“Rain is overspreading northeast MA this morning with temperatures near or slightly below freezing. This will result in some light icing on untreated roadways. Temperatures will rise above freezing between 7 and 10 am ending the threat of freezing rain. Motorists should use caution if traveling this morning. Be prepared for some slick spots on untreated roads,” according to the weather service.
