MassLive will release updated Bay State Conference boys lacrosse rankings every week during the regular season.

  1. Walpole (9-1, No. 1)
  2. Needham (6-6, No. 2)
  3. Newton North (6-4, No. 4)
  4. Wellesley (5-4, No. 3)
  5. Natick (7-3, No. 5)
  6. Milton (4-5, No. 6)
  7. Framingham (3-5, No. 7)
  8. Braintree (2-6, No. 8)
  9. Weymouth (1-10, No. 10)
  10. Brookline (0-8, No. 9)

Despite suffering its first loss of the season, Walpole continues to hold down the top spot in our Bay State Conference rankings.

The Timberwolves fell to Duxbury over the April break, but bounced back with a win over Wellesley on Tuesday. The program has scored double digit goals in all of its games so far this season besides the loss to the Dragons.

Jack Webb scored a first-quarter hat trick against Needham to power the team’s win over the Rockets on Apr. 22. Webb and Merrimack commit Brayden Mattera have given Walpole one of the best offenses in all of Division II so far this spring. The team’s next test is on Thursday against Brookline.

Newton North was the big mover in this week’s rankings. Following a one-goal loss to Needham, and with an overtime win against Natick on its resume, the Tigers moved to No. 3.

All four of the program’s losses to Concord-Carlisle, Wellesley, Waltham and Needham this season have come by five goals or less. The team’s next challenge will be on Thursday when it takes on Milton on the road.

Weymouth and Braintree swapped spots at No. 9 and No. 10 in this week’s rankings following the Wildcats’ 7-6 win against the Warriors at home on Tuesday.
