3 Catholic Conference boys hockey games to watch this week

As boys hockey teams head into the hearts of their schedules, MassLive wants to highlight some of the top games to watch each week.

Whether it’s a potential milestone captured, a bout between two longtime rivals, or two streaking teams facing off, our staff will share the top contests to get out to and when and where they’re taking place.

For this week, Jan. 19-25, here are three Catholic Conference boys hockey games to watch.

St. John’s prep (5-3-2) at BC High (5-5) on Wednesday at 7 p.m., at Devine Rink

Back in the win column after three straight losses, Prep will go for two in a row when it faces fellow Eagle squad BC High.

BC high will also be coming off a win, taking down Saint John’s on Sunday who was on a seven game winning streak.

Last time the Eagles faced off, Prep won 7-0.

Saint John’s Shrewsbury (8-3) at Catholic Memorial (10-1-1) on Wednesday at 7 p.m., at Warrior Ice Arena

After falling to BC High on Sunday, Saint John’s will be looking ahead to CM as a chance to recover. The last time these two teams faced, the Pioneers came back late int he third period to hand the Knights their first loss of the year.

That game to start the new year, which was also a rematch of the Div. I title game from last year, is sure to provide CM with plenty of fuel as well.

BC High (5-5) at Xaverian (9-2) on Saturday at 3 p.m., at Canton Ice House

Another catholic conference rematch from earlier in the year, the Hawks got the better of their last matchup with the Eagles, winning 3-0.

BC High however is riding high after taking down Saint John’s on Sunday, its first conference win of the season.

Xaverian, after beating BC High, dropped two of three and will look to bounce back this week.
