As boys hockey teams head into the hearts of their schedules, MassLive wants to highlight some of the top games to watch each week.
Whether it’s a potential milestone captured, a bout between two longtime rivals, or two streaking teams facing off, our staff will share the top contests to get out to and when and where they’re taking place.
For this week, Jan. 26 – Feb. 1, here are three Bay State Conference boys hockey games to watch.
Needham (7-4-2) at Milton (7-4-1) at Ulin Rink on Jan. 28 at 7 p.m.
Two weeks ago, Needham got its first conference win and in the process, handed Milton its first conference loss, 2-1 at Babson College.
With the series shifting back to Milton, the Wildcats will try to use it as an opportunity to turn their fortunes around. Since the loss to Needham, Milton is 1-2-1.
Weymouth (8-4) at Needham (7-4-2) at Babson College on Jan. 31 at 2 p.m.
After traveling to Milton, Needham will be back at home to host the other time team in the Herget Division in Weymouth.
The Wildcats have won five of their last six conference games. In the season opener, Weymouth beat Needham 6-1.
Framingham (8-5) at Natick (5-7-2) at Chase Arena on Jan. 31 at 7:20 p.m.
Perhaps the biggest rivalry in the Bay State Conference, Framingham beat Natick 4-2 in the season opener, its first win in the series in two years.
The Redhawks, who had a slow start to the year, have come on as of late, with four wins in their last five contests.
