Worcester Public Market thrives four years after riding out pandemic opening

Wafts of Indian, Jamaican and Chinese food filled the air at the Worcester Public Market on a recent Saturday in March. As the doors opened to the public, owner Allen Fletcher made haste to ensure all the booths were ready for showtime, lighting up displays and signs and making sure the stalls were up and running.

The Worcester Public Market, which opened in February 2020, weeks before the COVID pandemic, is now back in full swing. All but one vendor is empty, and a new one is set to fill the vacancy this spring, according to Fletcher.
