With St. Mary’s case settled, Northampton mayor awaits new owners of soaring landmark

NORTHAMPTON — With its federal lawsuit settled and a long-awaited sale to developers moving forward, Northampton now turns its eyes to the future of St. Mary of the Assumption Church.

“This development represents a significant opportunity for Northampton, ensuring this historic property is revitalized and used for our community’s benefit,” said Mayor Gina-Louise Sciarra in a statement on Monday. “I eagerly anticipate seeing the soon-to-be new owners’ plans for this site and am confident their vision will enhance our city’s landscape.”
