With no new signs installed at North Pond Conservation Area, rules continue to be ignored

SOUTHWICK — With no clear rules to instruct visitors to the North Pond Conservation Area about what it allowed and prohibited, violations are continuing, said the chair of the Conservation Commission during its meeting Monday.

“We’ve been into North Pond 13 times since the [May 14], and [there have been] 16 violations [and] eight for littering. This past time in I didn’t hear a motorcycle, but a piece fell off,” said Norman Cheever, the commission’s chair, during the meeting. The piece was a portable tire inflator.
