The Brown County Sheriff in Green Bay, Wisconsin recently took delivery of a new SWAT/equipment vehicle from LDV Custom Specialty Vehicles.
The truck is built on a Ford F59 gasoline chassis and features a 7.3L V8 engine, 6-speed TorqShift automatic transmission and an all-aluminum body construction. LDV integrated its hand-fabricated Extreme Duty body storage compartments for additional gear storage. A complete emergency lighting and siren package has also been added. A removable stainless work table can be added to the curbside exterior when needed. There is also a monitor mount for operations outside the vehicle. A flip-down rear step has been added to the rear bumper for staff.
Inside, the SWAT/Equipment vehicle features aluminum box pan shelving which is adjustable for gear. Gear storage includes 1 rolled hose, 2 collapsing ladders, 2 bang poles, 2 halligans, 1 rake and break, 1 pole, 3 breacher poles, 1 breacher attachment, 3 rams, 1 shovel, 1 sledgehammer and 1 axe. LDV also fabricated storage for riot shields. Roll-up doors secure the gear during transport. Additionally, there is a rifle securement cabinet with a roll-up door. The ceiling has grab handles added for staff.
The rear room has a magnetic soft closure pocket door, café-style seating for staff and stowable work tables. Custom aluminum gear storage cabinets are also added. Magnetic surface dry erase white boards are also included. The curbside wall has a 43″ high-resolution display monitor added.
