WASHINGTON — The head of the U.S. Small Business Administration told lawmakers last month that the agency is looking to reopen an office in Western Massachusetts after cuts in March closed the office in Springfield.
The lawmakers, however, remain skeptical.
Last week, U.S. Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass., told fellow senators the fate of the Springfield SBA office was one of several matters where he could not get full answers from the agency. U.S. Rep. Richard Neal, D-Springfield, said in a statement Monday the agency lacked a concrete plan to reopen the office.
