Wildfire smoke drifts out on Tuesday as dry stretch continues across Mass.

A day after smoke from Canadian wildfires created hazy conditions across Massachusetts, residents of the Bay State can expect to breathe a little easier on Tuesday.

The smoke is expected to stick around, but forecasters lifted the Air Quality Advisory in place on Monday. Lingering smoke is expected to be less than on Monday, and thus less noticeable, according to the National Weather Service.

Aside from the smoke, dry weather and seasonable temperatures are expected across Massachusetts on Tuesday and through the rest of the week. A few thunderstorms are possible in the western part of the state in the mid-afternoon to early evening.

High pressure builds east of New England on Wednesday, with slightly cooler temperatures expected. Highs should range from the mid-70s in Eastern Massachusetts to the low-80s in the Connecticut Valley. Conditions should remain dry, though there is a low risk for a spot shower or thunderstorm in Western Massachusetts.

The high pressure will continue to dominate into the weekend, keeping conditions dry. The only real chance of precipitation until Sunday comes Thursday afternoon, as marginal instability could cause some showers and storms.

Temperatures will remain seasonably warm on Thursday and Friday before a warming trend that could see highs climb back into the 90s by Sunday.

Along with that warming trend, humidity creeps back into the forecast later in the weekend, with the additional moisture in the air likely to cause thunderstorms next week.
