WILBRAHAM — A maintenance worker spotted mold in Wilbraham Middle School Aug. 7, setting off weeks of remediating and testing, but officials do not plan to delay the first day of school scheduled for Aug. 29.
The work to clean mold and to clean or remove objects followed by testing has stretched through weekends and into late nights at the school building at 466 Stony Hill Rd., said John Provost, superintendent of the Hampden Wilbraham Regional School District.
Provost said the mold might have been related to the wet weather in August.
