SOUTHWICK – While the Parks and Recreation Commission applied last month to the Community Preservation Committee for $670,000 for the construction of six pickleball courts at Whalley Park, on Wednesday the CPC announced that the application wasn’t complete and wouldn’t be included as an article for the warrant of the upcoming Special Town Meeting.
“We have a project application coming in. We do not have an application at this time for the pickleball courts at Whalley Park,” CPC Chair Christopher Pratt announced during the committee’s meeting Wednesday.
Committee member John Whalley III, who joined the meeting remotely later and during a discussion of the CPC’s articles, asked why the pickleball proposal wouldn’t be included on the warrant.
