Wilbraham man pleads guilty to threatening elected officials, first responders

SPRINGFIELD — A Wilbraham man sat stoically in prison drabs in U.S. District Court Wednesday, admitting to more than a dozen counts of threatening public officials and their families over social media platforms.

Funwayo “Jonathan” Mbilini Nyawo, 36, who also went by a series of aliases, waged a terror campaign on social media platforms after aligning himself with ISIS, according to records unsealed in U.S. District Court upon his arrest in February.

He was charged with multiple counts of interstate commission of threatening communication and stalking.
