ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Manager Alex Cora and the trainer visited the mound in the fifth inning to check on Red Sox starting pitcher Nick Pivetta after the righty grabbed his shoulder.
The visit happened two batters after Josh Lowe’s leadoff homer that tied it 2-2 and immediately before Jose Siri’s two-out solo homer that gave the Rays a 3-2 lead.
