The team survived without All-Star starter Cade Cunningham as Jalen Duren led the way with 20 points, 15 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal. Daniss Jenkins went for 17 with two steals and two blocks, and Duncan Robinson had 15 on four-for-nine shooting on 3-pointers. Ausar Thompson and Tobias Harris combined for 22, 15 boards and six assists, with Thompson also collecting three steals.
The Rockets are 26-16 and fourth in the West after dropping the first half of this road back-to-back on Thursday, falling to the Philadelphia 76ers 128-122 in overtime. Kevin Durant had 36 with seven boards, but he had eight turnovers as well. Amen Thompson had 17 points, nine assists, six boards and three steals, and Alperen Sengun went for 13, eight boards, seven assists, three steals and two blocks. Jabari Smith Jr. also had 13 points with five assists and four boards, and off the bench, Redd Sheppard added 14 and Tari Eason went for 13 with nine boards and four steals.
