The Mike Gundy-less Cowboys are moving on without their legendary head coach this week as Oklahoma State hosts Baylor at Boone Pickens Stadium
The Pokes fired Gundy earlier this week after losing to Tulsa to start the season 1-2. Gundy was the skipper of his alma mater for more than 20 years and was the winningest coach in the program’s history with 170 victories. Despite many years of success, the Cowboys have struggled recently, including a 3-9 record in the 2024 season where they went winless in Big 12 play and missed a bowl game for the first time in 18 years. New offensive coordinator Doug Meacham takes over as interim head coach.
The game is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on ESPN2. Fans looking to watch this college football game can do so for free by using DirecTV Stream, which offers a free trial, or FuboTV, which also offers a free trial as well as up to $25 off your first month. The Bears (2-2) enter the game with a significant statistical advantage over the Cowboys, particularly on offense. Baylor averages 477.3 yards per game, ranking 21st in the FBS, while Oklahoma State manages just 324.3 yards per game, ranking 114th nationally.
Baylor quarterback Sawyer Robertson leads the offensive attack with 1,320 passing yards, 13 touchdowns and three interceptions while completing 62.6% of his attempts. His primary targets include receiver Josh Cameron, who has 309 yards on 21 catches with three touchdowns, and running back Bryson Washington, who has rushed for 415 yards on 83 carries with four touchdowns.
