A couple of traditional college football powers meet up for just the second time in the history of their programs on Saturday, Sept. 6 when the No. 15 Michigan Wolverines visit the No. 18 Oklahoma Sooners at Memorial Stadium in Norman, Okla.
The game is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. EDT and will be broadcast on ABC. The only other Oklahoma vs. Michigan college football game came in 1975 and saw the Sooners win 14-6 in the Orange Bowl between legendary coaches Barry Switzer and Bo Schembechler.
This time around the focus will be on the quarterbacks who are sure to put on a show. Oklahoma has junior John Mateer behind center and he is coming off a huge performance in the 35-3 season opening win against Illinois State. Mateer tossed for 392 yards and three touchdowns while also getting a rushing score as well.
For Michigan, signal calling duties have been placed in the hands of true freshman Bryce Underwood, and his debut certainly opened plenty of eyes. He went for 251 yards and a passing score to lead the Wolverines to a 34-17 victory over New Mexico last week.
