What’s with Mass.’ weather? The National Weather Service will hold a webinar about it

New England received a heavy dose of stormy weather over the course of the summer, and the National Weather Service wants to talk about it.

On Tuesday night, the weather service’s Boston office will hold a public webinar to “review four severe weather and flash flood events that affected southern New England in July, which was a dramatic change from the overall quiet weather pattern that prevailed earlier in the summer,” forecasters said in a statement.

The statement noted the two tornadoes that struck Massachusetts, one that struck North Brookfield and the other that hit the Foxborough and Easton town line, and the one in New Hampshire. The webinar will also “take a closer look at the storm environments, radar data, and discuss the findings from NWS storm surveys,” the weather service said.

The webinar will be recorded and available for viewing on the National Weather Service Boston office’s YouTube channel.

The weather service plans to discuss August’s storms, including flash floods and the Aug. 18 tornadoes, in a September webinar, along with a Summer 2023 review.

Those who want to attend can register here at weather.gov/box/webinars.
