You might not have heard of a pizza cupcake before, and the concept may sound a bit strange. But once you’ve been to Boston Pizza Cupcakes in Dedham, you’ll probably become a firm supporter of this revolutionary pizza product.
The fast-casual restaurant is known for its innovative, bite-size deep-dish pizza “cupcakes” that come in more than 13 flavors, including Nashville Hot Chicken, Chicken & Waffles and Shrimp Mac & Cheese.
But the cupcakes don’t just come in savory options, there are also sweet choices, such as Classic Cheesecake, Cookies N Cream and S’mores.
Boston Pizza Cupcakes was started by brother/sister duo Natasha and Nyck Chatzis while working at their family’s restaurant in Newton, 4 Corners Pizza. After working in the restaurant for more than three decades, the siblings set out to redefine what pizza can be.
Legacy Place in Dedham offered them a spot to do that, and the siblings took full advantage of the opportunity so they could launch Boston Pizza Cupcakes without the “4 Corners” name behind it. The restaurant officially opened just after Christmas in 2023, Nyck Chatzis told MassLive at the eatery Wednesday.
“We’re proud to be able to take our passion and spin it into something innovative and delicious,” Natasha Chatzis said. “We had so much fun creating our menu for Legacy Place and are excited to welcome the community into our restaurant and try our unique take on pizza.”
Aside from the creative cupcakes, guests can also order classic Boston deep dish pizzas ranging from signature margherita and pepperoni to creative pies like Blazin’ B Sting, with pepperoni, whipped ricotta, and jalapeños, topped with Mike’s Hot Honey. A selection of fresh salads, sandwiches and fries are also available.
Boston Pizza Cupcakes is located at Legacy Place in Dedham, 708 Legacy Place, and is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. More information about the business can be found online or by following @bostonpizzacupcakes on Instagram.
