Westfield football has a history of great quarterbacks in recent years.
But now, Aiden Purdy can say he stands alone at the top statistically when it comes to single-season production.
Following the Bombers’ season-capping win over Agawam last week, Purdy closed out the fall with 1,898 passing yards and 20 passing touchdowns, both single-season program records.
The previous records for passing touchdowns was held by Austin St. Pierre with 17. The passing yards record was also held by St. Pierre with 1,340.
Purdy and Bombers WR David Berdecia were one of the most productive QB-WR pairings in Western Massachusetts this season. Berdecia also made history in the team’s last game, becoming the program’s all-time, single-season leader in receiving yards.
Westfield finished its season with an overall record of 4-6 and a record of 1-4 in the AA League.
