As we celebrate Women’s History Month, recognizing the important contributions of women in leading government, businesses, nonprofits, health care systems and colleges and universities is paramount to moving forward in creating a workforce that that is fair and equitable.
As a woman in leadership, certain terms and qualities come to mind. Leaders must be decisive, confident, and good communicators. Leaders must be motivators, guiding a team toward a common goal. Leaders should possess strong moral character and maintain positive ethical standards. Leaders should be fair and invite many voices to contribute to solving problems. Leaders should ultimately take responsibility for good outcomes but also those that don’t go so well.
