WALPOLE – Caitlyn Arooth picked the perfect time to break out of a slump.
With a fluid stroke to right field, Arooth plated a pair of runs with a single that broke a 3-3 tie in the top of the eighth inning, leading to the No. 5 Westfield softball team defeating No. 4 Walpole 5-3 at the SM Lorusso & Sons Athletic Complex softball diamond Monday in the quarterfinals of the MIAA Division II state tournament.
