SPRINGFIELD — Several months after a Westfield Police officer filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court alleging the city had violated the federal Fair Labor Standards Act by not paying him overtime, the city responded denying nearly all the substantive allegations.
The lawsuit, filed in September 2024 by Springfield attorney Jeffrey Morneau with Connor & Morneau, alleges the city hadn’t paid police officer Efrain Luna “time and a half” rates for work in excess of 40 hours in one week since July 2021 and “the date of the final disposition of this [lawsuit].”
