WESTFIELD — While the Police Department has operated two drones for several years, the department only recently completed training three patrol officers to use it daily and outfitted a cruiser to carry it and the peripheral equipment needed to make it a mobile flight deck.
“It’s a good tool for us,” said Police Chief Jerome Pitoniak about the Matrice 300, which is considered a commercial drone platform.
