CRANSTON, RI – The Westfield Little League 10-Year-Old All-Stars rallied for six runs in the bottom of the seventh inning but fell just short of winning their New England Regionals Invitational Tournament opener Sunday, falling to Cumberland (Rhode Island), 16-15.
Both teams combined for 13 runs in the seventh inning.
Westfield’s Hunter Werman (double, walk, two runs, RBI), Bridger Braun (walk, run, two RBI), and Colin Smith (walk, run, two RBIs) finished with two hits apiece. Jared LeCours had a hit, walk, three runs, and an RBI.
