Police in Ludlow said the West Street Bridge, which spans the Chicopee River to connect Ludlow with Springfield, is closed after inspectors with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation asked for its immediate closure.
In a social media post made Sunday afternoon, the Ludlow Police Department told motorists to seek out alternate routes because the bridge “will remain closed until further notice.”
