A report was issued from the National Weather Service on Tuesday at 9:42 p.m. for freezing rain and freezing drizzle until Wednesday at 2 a.m. for Franklin and Hampshire counties.
“Ahead of the more widespread rainfall about to hit to region overnight, there will be scattered light showers expanding northward. With higher elevation areas reporting temperatures near freezing in a shallow layer near the surface, can’t rule out patchy freezing drizzle or light freezing rain. Up to a glaze possible, although not expected to be widespread. Prepare for some slicker spots on untreated surfaces in the northern Berkshires. If traveling tonight, use caution and take it slow. Roads and other surfaces that may look wet, may in fact be icy,” says the weather service.
