Update: Prepare for freezing rain and freezing drizzle in Berkshire County until early Wednesday morning

An updated report from the National Weather Service was issued on Tuesday at 9:21 p.m. for freezing rain and freezing drizzle until Wednesday at 4:15 a.m. for Berkshire County.

“Scattered light rain showers and periods of drizzle are expected across portions of southern Vermont and the northern Berkshires overnight. Temperatures will continue to be close to freezing in some sheltered locations. While mainly rain or drizzle are expected, localized areas of freezing rain or freezing drizzle may occur, especially for elevations above 1800 feet. This may produce a glaze of ice on untreated roads and other ground surfaces. Motorists and pedestrians are urged to use caution when traveling overnight. Slow down, and be aware that roads and other ground surfaces that appear wet may in fact be icy,” states the weather service.
