The last two teams to get a win this season face off for the second time this month as Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever welcome fellow 2024 first round pick Aaliyah Edwards and the Washington Mystics to Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Wednesday, June 19.
The game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. EST and will be broadcast on NBA TV. Fans looking to watch this WNBA game can do so for free by using FuboTV and DirecTV Stream, which both offer a free trial or with SlingTV, which doesn’t offer a free trial but has promotional offers available.
The first contest was won by the Fever, 85-83, to drop Washington to 0-11. The Mystics took one more loss in a five-point game against the Connecticut Sun and have since rattled off consecutive victories to get to 2-12 on the season.
Indiana has looked better since its rough start to the season. While clark has continued to take rookie lumps throughout the season, she’s also shown flashes of brilliance, like going 7-for-11 for 23 points with nine assists and eight rebounds in the Fever’s last contest, a 91-83 victory over the Chicago Sky. But it is 2023 No. 1 pick Aliyah Boston who recently earned Player of the Week for the Eastern Conference and for the whole league, according to the Associated Press. Boston averaged 20 points, 13 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and two blocks from June 10-16 while the Fever went 2-1 to climb to 5-10.

Injuries continue to be a major factor this season, with the Dallas Wings being one of the team’s on the wrong side of injury luck this season.
Wings leading scorer Arike Ogunbowale is now sidelined with a sore Achilles, according to the Associated Press. This comes with the squad already missing All-Star Satou Sabally with a shoulder injury and Natasha Howard with a foot problem. Sabally has not played all season and Howard has only played one game.
In Tuesday’s action, 2024 No. 2 pick Cameron Brink went down with what appeared to be a knee issue. she missed the remainder of the Los Angeles Sparks’ 79-70 loss to the Connecticut Sun.
Brink had to be carried to the locker room, but reports after the game said she walked out of the stadium on her own power.
“Except for the 2019 season I’ve lost a starter to injury every single year I’ve been a head coach in this league,” Sparks coach Curt Miller said. “You just have to have the mentality of next person up and rally around it.”
On the other end of the injury spectrum, Las Vegas Aces Olympic point guard Chelsea Gray is finally ready and expected to make her long-awaited season-debut against the Seattle Storm on Wednesday. She’s missed the whole season with a left foot injury from last year’s WNBA Finals.
“We’re going to see how that goes and evaluate and make an in-game call then,” Aces coach Becky Hammon said. “We kind of have a general idea of what we’re doing with her, but it can change one way or another depending on how it goes.”
