Want to add a blood ritual to your wedding? This Minister of Satan will marry you

For those looking for a unique wedding option, a Minister of Satan is offering their services.

The Satanic Temple in Salem has reopened The Little Black Chapel for weddings and ceremonies.

The first marriage at the venue took place in 2022. But was closed while the organization redesigned and crafted it “for those who seek an experience unlike any other.”

“The Little Black Chapel is a place for folks of all identities, faiths, lifestyles and more to have celebrations of union and empowerment that rebel against tradition,” the Satanic Temple said in a statement.

There will be a wide range of package option. The ceremony only option costs $1,250, while an overnight experience costs $7,000.

The overnight experience includes the minister, a space for 30 people, a ceremony altar table draped in black and burgundy cloths and lace, a breakfast sourced from local bakeries and more.

Other options that can be added include a intimate candlelit elopement, a handfasting ceremony before the iconic Baphomet statue or a “deeply personal ritual of transformation.”

Baphomet is a seven-and-a-half foot tall bronze statue of a goat-headed figure with horns and a beard.

The new offerings “blend dark elegance, symbolism, and immersive artistry,” the organization said. “Each event is a unique reflection of personal power and devotion.”

Ceremonies are currently held on Friday and Saturday evenings, and some of the dates are already booked. Dates in October will be more expensive.

There also also non-wedding options, such as personal affirmation ceremonies and divorce ceremonies.

“Divorce is not just an end, but a profound transition into a new chapter of life. Our transformative Divorce Ceremony is designed to help you symbolically close one chapter and embark on another, leaving behind any energy from your past relationship,” the website states. “No one goes into a marriage expecting or anticipating a divorce. However, it does happen. We would be honored to help you cut ties with the past and step fresh into the future.”

All the ceremonies are about 30 minutes and cost around $1,000.

The Satanic Temple opened its first official headquarters in Salem in 2016. The headquarters is an Victorian-style house built in 1882 that was once used as a funeral home, according to their website.

Its members don’t view Satan as an evil figure, but as one who dared question authority. The group advocates for the separation of church and state and is known for attempting to get its one-ton goat-headed idol statue put next to the 10 Commandments monument on public grounds.
