DALTON — The stage was set for a classic Berkshire County matchup Friday night, as two long-time rivals, Pittsfield football and Wahconah clashed under the lights in a Week 5 matchup.
Pittsfield came out firing on the first possession of the game. Pittsfield’s quarterback connected on a 40-yard pass to running back Xavier Southard, who took it in for the game’s first touchdown with 9:35 left in the opening quarter. The big play put the Generals up early and had the home crowd on their feet.
