CHESTER COUNTY, Pa. — Newly released bodycam footage showed the moment a man drove head-on into a parked cruiser before attempting to flee, NBC 10 Philadelphia reported.

The incident occurred early on August 13 when West Whiteland Township police responded to a domestic disturbance, according to the report.
Upon arrival, police found the suspect sitting in a running vehicle in the driveway. The man was violating a protective order by being at the residence, according to the report.
Body camera video shows the suspect accelerating the vehicle across the front yard towards the officers as they approached the home, forcing them to jump out of the way before it collided with a parked cruiser.
Following the collision, the man attempted to flee on foot but was subsequently apprehended, hospitalized, and now faces charges including assault on police, according to the report. No officers were injured during the incident.
“I think the public knows what happens on social media and what they want to see but sometimes they don’t get to see first-hand when we pull up to an incident and we’re just waiting there to talk to someone, a victim or a family member or the actual person that we’re trying to contact, and then they turn around and just drive straight into us,” Detective Sergeant Jeff McCloskey stated. “The reactions that happened that night put everyone in danger.”
