MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Helicopter video captured an intense pursuit of suspected retail thieves in a stolen U-Haul van, Local 10 News reported.
The helicopter footage shows dozens of police vehicles using all three turnpike lanes and the highway shoulder to pursue the U-Haul.
The incident began when four suspects allegedly stole items from a Kohl’s department store and escaped the premises in the stolen U-Haul. The van rammed a police car, setting off the pursuit, according to the report.
The video shows Florida Highway Patrol troopers performing PIT maneuvers three separate times before the vehicle appears to stop. After the third maneuver was successful, the van reversed away from police, and at least two people can be seen getting out onto the overpass ledge.
The video shows multiple officers pulling the suspects back from the ledge. One suspect appeared to try to jump down onto a grassy median before officers grabbed his arms and pulled him up over the ledge.
No officer or suspect injuries have been reported, according to Local 10.
