ATLANTA — A police impersonator has been arrested after putting handcuffs on an allegedly drunk man in a strip club, FOX 5 reported.
When real Atlanta PD officers responded to a reported auto accident, they found an apparently intoxicated man handcuffed inside a vehicle. The driver, Patricia Smith, identified the man as her husband, Samuel Smith, and said that an officer had put him in handcuffs at a strip club, according to the report.
Both were arrested: Samuel on an outstanding warrant and Patricia for DUI and other traffic charges. The officers then went to the strip club, where they found Terrence Jacks wearing a vest, police patch and brandishing a Department of Homeland Security special agent badge.
Jacks said he was employed as a security guard at the strip club, admitted to putting handcuffs on Smith and presented special agent credentials. He also had a vehicle equipped with blue lights and police decals, along with government plates later determined to be stolen, the report states.
A police investigation revealed that Jacks was not a DHS special agent. He was arrested on charges of impersonating a public officer and was booked in the Fulton County Jail.
