Several types of vegetables sold at Walmart, Kroger and Aldi, among other stores, have been recalled due to concerns over possible listeria contamination, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced on July 23.
Weirs Farm Inc., based in Ohio, is recalling produce sold at Walmart, Kroger, Aldi and more stores across several states, the FDA said in a statement last week.
The recall comes on the heels of a July 12 recall of cucumbers also sold by Weirs Farm. All of the products were packaged between July 5 and July 12.
Symptoms of listeria can include fever, muscle aches and gastrointestinal problems, according to the FDA. Those who ate these vegetables and are experiencing symptoms should seek medical attention.
Items across several states, specifically Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
On Friday, Big Y Foods and Stop & Shop said they would temporarily close deli departments after a recall of Boar’s Head liverwurst also possibly contaminated with listeria.
