Indie rock band Vampire Weekend gave the second-to-last performance of Boston Calling‘s final night, dazzling audiences with newer material and hits from their early years in the 2000s.
Lead vocalist Ezra Koenig, joined by bassist Chris Baio, drummer Chris Tomson and others, serenaded audiences to tunes such as “Campus,” “A-Punk” and “Classical.”
Vampire Weekend’s set on the Green Stage was sandwiched between ska punk band Sublime, who preceded them, and rock headliner Dave Matthews Band, the final act of the music festival’s three-day run.
In a tribute to Massachusetts — which has inspired Vampire Weekend’s material over the years, Koenig said during the performance — the band’s final number was “Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa.”
