US-Canadian chain Earls Kitchen + Bar to open third Mass. location in 2027

Earls Bar + Kitchen is expanding its local footprint in Massachusetts with a third Boston-area location set to open in early 2027 in the Seaport District.

Earls — currently with 10 locations across the United States and dozens more in Canada, where it originated — has had an established presence in Greater Boston for more than a decade.

In 2014, Earls opened at Assembly Row in Somerville, followed by a 2017 opening at the Shops at Prudential Center in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood.

In a little under two years, Earls will open its doors to a new 9,800-square-foot space at 157 Seaport Blvd. featuring a three-season enclosed patio and an al fresco dining space open during warmer months.

Anchored by a “lively bar” in the core of the restaurant, Earls said that its new Seaport West office tower location will “meld tradition and charm with fresh and modern twists.”

The restaurant serves a “modern American menu with global influences and local flavors,” Earls said. It added that its restaurants are “noted for their unique personalities, each curated differently” in a “sophisticated yet upscale-casual dining experience.”

Earls said it plans to commission local artists for designs to hang on Earls Seaport’s “deep ivy green paneled walls.” The space will also feature mosaic tiled floors and jewel-toned fabrics for “warmth and dimension,” Earls added.

Earls, whose history dates back more than 40 years, was started by a father and son duo Leroy Earl “Bus” Fuller and Stan Earl Fuller in the western Canadian provinces.

Before the Seaport location opens in 2027, Earls will open two locations in Hawaii and Tennessee in 2026. It recently opened two locations in Florida.

President of Earls Kitchen + Bar, Mark Hladik, called the expansions “an exciting phase of accelerated growth.”

Hladik said Earls will “create an unrivaled space and experience reflective of the community and city we love,” at its upcoming Boston location.
