Update: Wind advisory in place for Dukes and Nantucket counties until Monday evening – gusts to hit 55 mph

The National Weather Service issued an updated wind advisory at 7:40 a.m. on Monday in effect until 8 p.m. for Dukes and Nantucket counties.

The weather service adds to be ready for, “East winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph.”

“Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and some power outages may result,” states the weather service. “Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.”
