The National Weather Service issued an updated red flag warning at 7:08 a.m. on Tuesday in effect until 6 p.m. for Berkshire County.
The weather service states that the warning was issued for critical fire weather conditions. Winds are forecasted to be northwest 5 to 10 mph with gusts as high as 15 to 20 mph and relative humidity as low as 45 percent.
“Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended,” explains the weather service.
